What is self-love?
We can think of it as a desire to give our own well-being a level of importance and respect. If you love yourself, you have regard for yourself. It’s about treating yourself as well as you would treat anyone you love.
But also when self-love is present in us, we are in recognition of ourselves as part of the oneness, source, universe or the divine. Whatever the name you wish to call it, it is ultimately love and light. As part of this, we are also therefore love and light. If our self-love is low then for some reason we have created a separation between us and source, restricting the flow of abundance energy which will be reflected back as a lack in our life…lack of energy, lack of good things.
Often that separation comes because we have been conditioned to believe that we should put ourselves last. We do this under the guise of caring about others or modesty. However, this is very self-defeating and definitely affects your ability to create light into the world. You can’t do as much for others when you don’t make yourself a priority, the old saying “you can not serve from an empty well”.
The best way to help others and shine your light is to recognise that prioritising you is not being selfish but actually the greatest gift you can give to the world. When you come back into self-love, you come back into your own light and soul connection then you can shine your full light not a dimmed down version.
Also, you have to live with yourself every minute of the day, so you may as well enjoy your company!
Hold your hands over your heart (chakra) area and say to yourself that
"I recognise that committing to myself is an act of love and service to myself and the world".

make some time to read of the "Self love means accepting who I am" reflection/affirmation prompt.
